All County roads that are assigned the national speed limit have been reviewed to identify those with an accident rate higher than the national average. As a result of this review, Broughton Road, Frolesworth and Frolesworth Road, Broughton have been identified to have a total number of accidents above the national average. Therefore, in order to increase general safety and reduce the accident rate, the County Council proposed to reduce the speed limit from 60mph to 50mph.

20/12/2021 - Adult Social Care Workforce Sustainability ref: 12492    Recommendations Approved

The NHS have agreed to allocate non-recurrent funding for use in the current financial year to the County Council to ease the burden on the health and care system. In discussion with Leicester and Leicestershire and Rutland NHS the Chief Executive and Director of Corporate Resources have agreed to allocate this funding for the purpose of workforce stabilisation, providing headroom funding to the local care workforce to help address capacity by incentivising workers to remain employed over the winter period when demand is expected to increase. The level of funding allocated to be determined by the level of take up.
