Decision Maker: Director of Environment and Transport

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

Following a request from the school, the Authority sought to install additional 'School Keep Clear' (zig-zag) markings outside the school to keep an area clear of stationary vehicles. The proposals intend to provide a safe area for pedestrians to cross.

Decision:

That the proposed additional mandatory 'School Keep Clear' markings at Rothley Primary School, Burrow Drive and Warren Way be implemented.

Alternative options considered:

The consultation for this TRO was carried out between 2 February 2022 and 23 February 2022, for 21 days. Affected residents and statutory consultees including the Police were consulted. No objections were received to the scheme. One resident requested the markings be extended across their driveway, however the Authority agreed to install a 'H' bar entrance marking, as this was the most appropriate option.
