Working for Everyone in NW Loughborough!

Hello,

Firstly, thank you to all those who supported me in the County Council Elections in June 2009.  It is an honour to continue to work for you.

If you live in the north west of Loughborough the chances are that it's my job to represent you in Leicestershire.  My division includes the Thorpe Acre, Booth Wood, the Ashby Road Estate and students on north side of the University campus (see Student Village section).

My main interests at County Hall are Transport and Education. I am a Governor of Burleigh College and have maintained close links with the University for several years.

I think County Councillors should have a good knowledge of the whole county. So it was that in April 2006 I cycled round the whole county from Belvoir in the north to Market Harborough in the south and the National Forest in the west - about 140miles. It was terrific experience.  You can share it http://www.garendon.freeuk.com/leicstour.htm

I started a £10,000 plus project, called Thorpe Acre 2000, which is still going and welcomes ideas to improve the area.  Recently we completed three projects: a wildlife garden off Stirling Ave and two sculpture projects, one of which was with Stonebow CP School.

I am a member of the Leics & Rutland Wildlife Trust.

Other interests include: IT, travel, languages reading, local history, film, and road running. I've run two marathons: Dublin and Oslo, with best time 3hrs 40mins. Most years I do the Shepshed Seven miles through Garendon Park (6.11.05 in 62 minutes). I have two children who attended Rawlins and Burleigh Colleges. My wife is a science teacher in Leicestershire.

Further information is included on other pages of this site and on http://www.garendon.freeuk.com/

With best wishes,
