Petition for speed restrictions on Tickow Lane, Shepshed

We the undersigned petition the Council to We would like to council to take measures to reduce the speed of traffic travelling down Tickow Lane, Shepshed. This is particularly on the stretch of road from the new Bluebells development to the junction with Anson Road. Solutions may be to extend the current traffic calming measures in existence further up Tickow lane, add a crossing or reduce the speed limit to 30mph.

There is a public footpath crossing Tickow Lane and leading down to the stream which is widely used by local people every day, particularly dog walkers. The speed of traffic travelling in both directions is causing a major hazard, made worse by a blind bend just before the crossing There is an increasing number of properties in the area and therefore an increasing volume of traffic travelling up and down Tickow Lane, which will only add to this issue in the future. We are seriously concerned that this will result in an accident and someone being seriously injured or worse.
