01/11/2019 - Proposed implementation of TRO on Bentley Road and its junctions ref: 10592    Recommendations Approved

The junction of the A6 Loughborough Road and Bentley Road is signalised. Some parking occurs approximately halfway along Bentley Road and when traffic is queuing at the traffic signals during peak times this parking can prevent traffic that has turned into Bentley Road from getting past causing traffic to queue on the A6. Additionally, any parked vehicles are largely on the footway to try and ensure that they do not obstruct the flow of traffic; this can impede pedestrians from getting past on the footway.

Following a request from the Schools to be included in the School Keep Clear Project - School Keep Clear (zig-zag) markings were proposed to be installed outside the pedestrian entrances at the schools to keep an area clear of stationary vehicles.
