05/08/2019 - Proposal to reduce the speed limit on Melton Road, Long Clawson ref: 10498    Recommendations Approved

All County roads that are assigned the national speed limit have been reviewed to identify those with an accident rate higher than the national average. As a result of this review Melton Road has been identified to have a total number of accidents above the national average. Therefore, in order to increase general safety and reduce the accident rate, the County Council proposes to reduce the speed limit from 60mph to 50mph.

06/08/2019 - Proposed No Waiting At Any Time for various junctions in Braunstone ref: 10497    Recommendations Approved

The County Council has received a number of enquiries concerning the level of employment parking taking place on a number of roads within and surrounding Meridian East. After assessing the situation, it is proposed to introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions in order to provide a safer environment for vehicles.

Decision:

To introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions on Foxon Way at its junctions with Burchnall Road, Owen Close and Meridian Way; on Meridian East outside the Royal Mail Depot and at its junction with Legion Way and on Legion Way at two vehicle accesses and its junction with Centurion Way.

09/08/2019 - Proposed limited waiting restriction at Coley Close, Hinckley ref: 10493    Recommendations Approved

Residents from Coley Close have requested such measures to be implemented, whilst petitioning for a successful consultation. Officers have visited the site and observed those issues faced by residents, and agree such measures are appropriate based on evidence and support from the majority of the community.
