Proposed contract extension for the BACEM supply contract to H & B.

Purpose:

Approval was sought through this ODR for a potential full year's final extension to the contract. Initially H&B will only be awarded an extension for 6 months with the caveat that the County Council closely monitors H&B’s performance to ensure deliveries/communication is improved. During the 6 months extension period it is intended that the contract will be replaced. The follow-up 6 months' extension to H&B will only be awarded should the Council not manage to procure a new contract in the desired timeframe.

Decision:


To approve the final 12 months available extension for the BACEM supply contract from 1st April 2020 to 31st March 2021 to H&B. The initial award will be for 6 months with another 6 months being available should it be needed.

Alternative options considered:

The option of awarding the full 12-month extension was considered, but a replacement contract is the preferred option (this was the first generation of supply contract and new contracts have evolved).
