Decision details

Rejection of School Keep Clear markings at three schools in NWL

Decision Maker: Director of Environment and Transport

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

Following a request from the Schools to be included in the School Keep Clear Project - School Keep Clear (zig-zag) markings were proposed to be installed outside the pedestrian entrances at the schools to keep an area clear of stationary vehicles. However, this would result in a reduction in on-street parking spaces for residents without off-street parking during school times and has resulted in numerous objections to the proposals. Following consultation with the local members for the areas it was agreed that the proposed TRO should not proceed.

Decision:

That the proposed mandatory School Keep Clear Markings at the Schools listed below in North West Leicestershire are NOT implemented:
Belvoirdale Primary School, Scotlands Road, Coalville
Castle Donington College, Mount Pleasant, Castle Donington
St Edwards Primary School, Eastway, Castle Donington

Alternative options considered:

None considered.
