Decision Maker: Director of Environment and Transport

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

All County roads that are assigned the national speed limit have been reviewed to identify those with an accident rate higher than the national average. As a result of this review the B4114, B4669 and B581 have been identified to have a total number of accidents above the national average. Therefore, in order to increase general safety and reduce the accident rate, the County Council proposes to reduce the speed limit from 60mph to 50mph.

Decision:

To reduce the current national speed limit on B4114, B4669 and B581 – Croft, Stoney Stanton, Sapcote, Broughton Astley and Sharnford.

Alternative options considered:

The scheme has been subject to public consultation to which no objections or comments were received.
